Three photos of Nisaa performing at the Rennaissance Festival

Nisaa Rose

Nisaa Rose was first captivated by the art of bellydance at the age of sixteen, answering a quiet call that felt more like fate than choice. Her journey began in classic Egyptian Cabaret under the guidance of Zarifa, and continues now with Iona at Lotus Studios, where she studies Datura style and allows emotion, intention, and story to bloom through movement. A devoted forever student, Nisaa pursues workshops and seminars as love letters to her craft, always seeking new ways to connect, grow, and evolve.

As a cherished member of the Roses of the Realm, she treasures the troupe’s deep camaraderie, boundless creativity, and shared magic. Nisaa thrives on contrast—equally enchanted by the danger of fire and sword as she is by the flowing elegance of silk fans. Onstage, she radiates fiery energy and colorful joy, captivating audiences with movement that is both mesmerizing and just a little bit sultry.

Born in New Orleans and steeped in its mystique, this vampy Slytherin favors moonlight and autumn nights, claiming Halloween as her most beloved holiday. When she is not dancing and weaving magic onstage, Nisaa wanders the world, gathering memories and moments with those she holds dear. And her favorite ship? Friendship.

Firuza Rose

Dance has taken over Firuza’s life in all the best ways. Over 20 years ago, she took a single belly dance class at a local YMCA, and her love for the art has grown ever since. Her favorite performances have an edge of danger like sword-balancing or fire-dancing.

Performing with the Roses of the Realm is a dream come true for Firuza, and she looks forward every year to “bellydance bootcamp” and bringing a smile to festival-goers’ faces.

Currently, Firuza teaches belly dance classes in Salisbury, NC as part of Blue Rose Bellydance. Her classes focus on encouraging dancers to grow in their personal expression and confidence. She believes that dance is for everybody and every body.

Firuza previously performed with Nayna’s Raq-A-Bellas troupe and Fatima’s Rhythmic Essence troupe.

Zohreh Rose

Zohreh has been studying dance since 2003 under the guidance of professional dancers, Zarifa (Charlotte, NC), and Yasmine (Charlotte, NC). She has performed at the multiple events as a member of the Sarab Dancers, Troupe Sholeh, Beledi Beat, Jewels of the Caravan, Infectious Belly Dance, Steps in Time and Roses of the Realm. She has competed and placed in several competitions. She enjoys the artistry, energy and companionship of the dance and often surprises by showing her geeky side in creative choreographies.

Carolina Renaissance Festival each year.  Basimah loves to share her passion for belly dance and has performed with several other troupes, as well as entertained through multiple solo performances.

Three photos of Ailyn performing at the Renaissance Festival

Ailyn Rose

Ailyn Rose was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ever since having her hair braided on her first trip to Carolina Renaissance Festival in third grade, Ailyn has cherished dressing up and immersing herself in the history and fantasy CRF offers. An enthusiastic patron of Jewels of the Caravan and later Roses of the Realm stage shows, Ailyn took her first bellydance class in high school with Magic Hips. Travels in Northern Africa cemented her love for the culture showcased through the artform.

In her adult dancing career she’s enjoyed the instruction and guidance of several regional professionals including Nayna and the Rockabellas. She joined Roses of the Realm in 2017 and looks forward to many more colorful years in the bouquet.

Ghanima Rose

Sprung fully-formed from Zeus’s head sometime after the Cretaceous Period, Ghanima appeared on the bellydance scene in the mid 2000s. Audiences were awestruck as this fiery goddess swung her scimitar through ranks of unsuspecting mediocre white men, thus cementing her role in the Jewels of the Caravan as the Queen of Souls.

Reaping said souls requires Ghanima to descend to the Earth for two months out of the year, during which she graces the stages of the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife!”

Three photos of Elle.

Elle Rose

Elle was born in the mountains of western NC and raised fighting evil empires on the forest moon of Endor, occasionally flitting off for adventures with Dr. Jones, and often roaming the vast terrain of Hyrule.

Elle started dancing at a young age, but didn’t find Bellydance until her 2nd year at university. A student of Biology and Anthropology, she has always been passionate about exploring the world around her. Bellydance allowed her to turn that same thirst for discovery inward. Every new isolation, shimmy, or layer reminds her that there are vast uncharted territories within!

Having one foot rooted firmly in her Appalachian reality and one floating off into the realms of fantasy, Elle began dancing with Browncoat Bellydance and bringing fandom inspired performance to the masses. More recently she has been performing with her local troupe of dance anarchists, Moonship Performing Arts.

She is thrilled to be joining the Roses of the Realm and can’t wait to dance for you!!

Mira Bella Rose

Mira Bella is a passionate dancer whose journey began at the age of 13, when she first fell in love with the power of movement as a form of expression. After completing a minor in dance, she began her belly dance journey in 2009 under the guidance of the talented Yasmine of Magic Hips.

With dedication and heart, Mira Bella immersed herself in the art form, and in 2012, she had the honor of performing at the Carolina Renaissance Festival with the esteemed Jewels of the Caravan. Since then, she has continued to grow as a dancer, drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of instructors—including some of the most celebrated artists in the world. She’s also explored the dynamic world of Pole Arts, where she now shines as both an instructor and a competitor.

When she’s not dancing, Mira Bella loves sewing magical costumes, crocheting cozy treasures, and surrounding herself with all things that sparkle.

Lorelei Rose

Lorelei’s dance journey began with a moment of undeniable magic. At the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival, she was captivated by the dancers—each movement filled with power, grace, and a deep sense of story. Seeing the diversity of dancers, she realized that this art was for everyone—including her. That spark led her to seek out a teacher, and from the moment she stepped into her first class, she knew she had found something profound.

She began with American Tribal Style (ATS) before expanding into Traditional Raqs Sharqi and Datura (fusion). Over the years, she has danced with swords, fans, veils, and fan veils, each prop adding its own energy to her performances.

For Lorelei, dance is more than movement—it is a form of divine expression, a way to channel energy, emotion, and intention beyond words. While she treasures the personal connection dance brings, she also finds deep joy in performing. Through movement, she tells stories, evokes emotions, and invites audiences into a world of rhythm and magic.

Her journey has been shaped by her mentor, Maria Palacio (Alegria Dance Studio), who first welcomed her into the dance world, as well as training with Carolena Nericcio and FCBD. Now, in a beautiful full-circle moment, she is thrilled to be joining the Roses of the Realm, returning to the space that first sparked her love of dance.

For Lorelei, dance is a lifelong journey—one that continues to unfold with every shimmy, spin, and smile.
